MY 2ND EVENT WITH BDJ AND YES! IT WAS AMAZING
I arrived at the venue with just enough time to mingle and have photo opt before the event start. I was greeted with a smile by one of the event organizer when I arrived at the registration area. After that, Ms Janine guides me to the vacant seat (because I look so lost: D).
The place was nicely set up with long tables and activity materials for every participant; face towel, spa headband and cotton pads.
It brightens up with small decor like this standee from Vedette. It's so cute and the design totally speaks about their mask.
This is my first time attending an event all by myself. I was afraid and excited at the same time because I don't know anyone. But once I got to the table, I learn that there's nothing to be scared of. Everyone at the event is very friendly and welcoming. I met Mommy Marie of Mamanee's Nest, Justine, Tine, and Eileen. We have a small chat about our experiences with BDJ's events.
While waiting for other participants (who sadly got stuck in traffic), Ms Aya, start the program with an icebreaker - "Take a hint". Every Bella wants to join, but they opt to choose 4 Bella for each table. I was chosen to be part of it. But unfortunately, our team did not win - but still we have some fun. The other team wins a mask pack from Vedette.
Ms Aya, introduced the first speaker of the program, Dr. Iza Noliza-Encarnacion, Resident Dermatologist at East Ave Medical Center. She discussed about the composition of skin, nails and hair, and how to properly take care of it.
Here are some of Dr. Iza’s tips
For the Hair:
- Always use a mild shampoo
- Hair that is exposed in pollution and sun must be washed daily.
- Rub the hair with the tip of the fingers NOT with the nails; it might cause irritation to the scalp.
- Always use sun protection like an umbrella.
For the Nails:
- Nails should be groomed regularly
- Cut your nails along the edge, to prevent the ingrown.
- Make sure the tools you are using is well sanitize.
For the Skin
- Always clean the face max of 3 times a day.
- Use warm water and a gentle cleanser.
- Tone, exfoliate (at least twice a week) and always put moisturizer.
- Refrain from using astringent that may cause irritation to the skin.
- Use sun protection such as eyeglasses, hats, and umbrella and don't forget the sun block with SPF 30 pa+++ (UVA&UVB) at all times.
- Keep your hands away from your face.
We learn that (1) hair shampoo can cause breakouts because of its oil content that was needed by the hair to make it healthier; (2) when your fingernails have been removed totally, it would take 6 months to 1 year before it is fully developed, while you toenails would take 3 months to 6 months to completely heal.
She also discussed about the different types of skin.
- Oily skin is the most acne prone skin due to the production of sebum and accumulated dirt; mostly seen to those who live in a in a warm and humid place
- Dry skin usually is flaky and peeling, mostly seen in those who live in cold places; needs to be moisturized at all time.
- Combination skin is oily on the T-zone area (forehead, nose and chin) and the rest of the face is dry.
- Normal skin is between oily and dry. It has lesser chance of getting pimples, and much easier to take care of.
- Sensitive skin are those who easily breaks out with rashes, they also need to consult a specialist before buying a specific product or over the counter treatment.
Acne is caused by too much oil production, dead skin cells and bacteria on our skin, when the bacteria get trapped in the pores and multiply it caused the area inflammation. There are other factors that can cause acne like hormonal imbalance (PCOS), makeup, poor diet & stress and family genes.
After the very informative discussion with Dr. Iza, we end the first part of the program with this delicious merienda from Conti's Bakeshop. I can't get my hands out of that sinful gooey chocolate brownie, their cheesy lasagna and refreshing lemonade - yum!! Hello happy tummy!😂

After the delicious meal, they ask everyone to wash their face in preparation for the activity. We were provided with this mini bag with different type of mask.
Marketing Manager of VedettePH Ms Michelle Diaz, introduced us with Vedette. VEDETTE is one of the largest beauty stores in Vietnam. It offers all natural and pampering facial care products. All products are unique variants of mask that target different kind of skin problem.
According to her it is important to know which product matches our skin type. She also talked about how Vedette facial mask can help us level up our beauty and skin regimen.
(1) Cleanse – wash off all the dirt and impurities
(2) MASK – Deeper cleanse and nourish
(3) Tone – Tighten skin pores
(3) Tone – Tighten skin pores
(4) Moisturize – for hydration and to soften skin
SO WHY MASK?
"It exfoliates, nourishes, stimulates and pampers skin all at the same time."
Vedette offers four types of mask, which is suitable for every skin type.
Clay Facial Mask – for normal, combination and oily skin. A washable mask that contains a soggy mud and mineral salts, it helps to brighten up and smooth the skin by exfoliating it.
Purifying Peel-off Mask – suitable for all skin types. A peel-off mask that is algin-based paste like that serves as second skin when applied. Help in removing dead skin cells and tighten the pores for a flawless and radiant skin.
Whitening mask – suitable for all skin types. A sheet mask that contains different vitamins and amino acid that helps nourish and protect against UV and provides softness and radiance to the skin
Yogurt Mask Sheet – suitable for all skin types. Contains lactic acid, minerals and enzyme in yogurt essence, it provides nutrients, balance the moisture and smoothens the skin.
While we are choosing which mask to use for the activity, Ms. Michelle demonstrates how to apply the mask properly, we should always start with the forehead and make sure that the whole face is covered.
I personally pick the Purifying peel-off mask, I love how it feels so cold and fresh without the stinging effect other brand gives. After removing the mask, my skin feels tighter and brighter, smooth, soft and refresh.
Part of activity after putting our choice of mask, is to find a Bella who use the same mask and take a selfie with them and post it on Facebook/Instagram for a chance to win a prize from Vedette.
